About Andrew (Drew) Laughlin
I’m Andrew (Drew) Laughlin — a cybersecurity expert, community advocate, and proud Great Lakes Energy District 8 member. My passion lies in creating transparent, resilient, and smart systems that work for everyone.
With over a decade of experience assessing, calculating, and mitigating risk, I bring strategic clarity and technical know-how to every initiative I take on. I'm also a firm believer in collaboration — working across boundaries to solve problems and build something better together.
The Cooperative Experience
I have six years of cooperative experience and understand the challenges of the future in our rural setting and have been a member of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. I also believe that the Seven Cooperative Principles are core to the success of GLE.
Why I'm Running
I believe in accountable, data-informed operations that keep the members' needs in mind. I’m running for Great Lake Energy District 8 because our systems should serve us all — and I know how to make them stronger, safer, and more accessible.
